Overview
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Civil Services Examination
annually to recruit candidates for various prestigious services including IAS, IPS, IFS,
and other Group A and Group B services.

- Notification Release: February 2026
- Application Start: February 2026
- Application End: March 2026
- Prelims Exam: May 2026
- Mains Exam: September 2026
- Interview: February-April 2027
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
21-32 years (as on August 1, 2026). Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC categories.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Final year students can also apply.
Exam Pattern
Prelims
Two objective type papers (General Studies I & General Studies II – CSAT)
Mains
Nine papers including Essay, four General Studies papers, and two Optional Subject papers.
Interview
Personality Test worth 275 marks.

Application Fee
